LGBT weddings in Minnesota

People have many choices they can make in their lives each and every day. A person can choose whether they are Democrat or Republican, whether they part their hair on the right or the left or if they have bangs or not. A person can choose what career they go into or if they have children or not. Sexual orientation, however, is not choice...it's how God made us.

People have asked me if I'm glad that gay marriage was legalized in Minnesota, because it meant more business for me. I tell them that I am very happy for it was legalized, but not for business (I'm already very much in demand), but because it's the right thing to do. I have always held a firm belief in equality, and am very excited that as of August 1, 2013 Minnesota finally began recognizing same sex marriages! For the first time, same sex partners are allowed to legally marry. It's about time, right?

As a Minnesota wedding officiant, I have been performing same sex weddings in Minnesota since I started, but they have always had to be labeled "commitment ceremonies". I was so excited when as of August 1st 2013, these same gay and lesbian weddings were rightfully recognized as legal marriages. Now, with the Supreme Court ruling that every state in the country must allow same sex marriages, I coouldn't be happier!

I welcome the opportunity to unite gay and lesbian couples in marriage, so if you are a member of the GLBT community and are ready to marry your partner, please contact me. I would be honored to officiate your wedding.
